Mark McCoy, PT, DPT

Dr. Mark McCoy is the owner and a practicing physical therapist at Performance Physical Therapy. He has been practicing for 37 years and opened PPT 25 years ago. He was born in So. California but moved up to Weaverville, CA in the 7th grade. He played football and ran track in high school. He attended California State University Chico for three years then transferred to California State University Northridge earning his B.S. in Biology and certificate of Physical Therapy. During one of his summer breaks he worked as an aide at an Orthopedic clinic located in South Lake Tahoe. This clinic’s patients included members of the US Ski Team. This experience solidified what he wanted pursue as his lifelong profession. He then moved to Sacramento working for a preeminent PT clinic in the area. After 8 years he went into private practice. In 2007 he went back to school at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon to earn his Doctorate. He graduated with his Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2010. He pursued physical therapy because he truly wanted to help people. He approaches each patient as an individual with unique needs. He believes there is no “cookie cutter” approach and develops an individual plan for each patient. Dr. McCoy listens to his patients’ concerns and works with them so they understand every step of the process so they can feel comfortable with their recovery. Dr. McCoy is a lifelong learner both personally and professionally. He has thousands of hours of hands-on continuing education. He looks forward to meeting with you and getting you on your road to recovery.

Gayliene Cunningham

Gayliene Cunningham, Chief Operating Officer

Gayliene Cunningham is the Chief Operating Officer for Performance Physical Therapy. She is originally from the Bay Area but moved to Colfax, California in high school and calls that home. She attended Fashion Institute of Design and Marketing in San Francisco earning her A.A degree in Marketing/Management and starting her 25+ year career in retail management. She decided to stay home with her children and found a love for teaching. She went back to school at the University of the Pacific earning her B.A. in Liberal Studies. She continued her education at UOP and graduated in 2007 with her Master of Education. She worked for Lodi Unified School District for 13 years. She taught 5th and 6th grade for 10 years. In 2016 she went back to school at California State University at Stanislaus earning her Administration Credential. She then was promoted to a Vice Principal position and worked for LUSD for 3 more years. She started with PPT in June of 2020 in her current position. She is excited to be in this new position where she can put her marketing, customer service and people skills to work for a business whose sole purpose is to make people well. She has dedicated her life to helping people, whether it is her customers, her students, or the patients at PPT. She looks forward to meeting you and assisting you any way she can.

Marquis Dionson

Marquis Dionson, PTA

Marquis grew up in Eastampton, NJ and moved to Elk Grove with his wife and twin sons the summer of 2015. Marquis became a licensed PTA in 2013 and worked in an outpatient clinic on 5th Avenue in Manhattan, NYC before moving to California. He finished his education in Velez College of Physical and Occupational Therapy in the Philippines. His philosophy is to use a combination of exercise and manual therapy with plenty of motivating words and patient education to help guide his patients through their physical rehabilitation journey. He also likes barbecuing tri tip and hanging out in Lake Tahoe.
