Our goal is to connect your swing technique with a physical ability that can build a repeatable, efficient and powerful golf swing that will take strokes off your game. You will see an improvement in posture, pain, endurance and distance. This program will help you play better, and feel better both on and off the golf course.
What is Titlist Performance Institute?
The Titlist Performance Institute has over 11 years of accumulated research of how strength, flexibility and stability affect your golf swing.Data was taken from more than 30,000 amateur golfers as well as some of the greatest professional golfers in the world, to create a series of tests to determine which part of your body is limiting you from reaching your highest potential.With this program.
TPI Certified Golf Fitness Instructors are able to determine your ability to generate and transfer speed and determine the most efficient energy transfer throughout your body. Each program is different, and depends on the needs of the individual player.
How is this different from a golf instructor?
Golf instructors are very important when it comes to the technique of your golf swing. TPI Certified Golf Fitness Instructors are able to clinically identify weaknesses throughout your body, and
give you the proper tools to improve your overall fitness. For example, an instructor may be unable to identify limited mobility in your hips and ankles, causing you to lose power in your swing and placing undue pressure on your knees and lower back. This could lead to a gradual loss of power and eventually lead to an injury.We will work closely with your golf instructor to make sure that we are all working toward the same goal.
TPI Certified Golf Fitness Instructor, Dr. Mark McCoy, DPT will put you through a series of tests for balance, strength, stability, and flexibility. Medical history, golf goals and shot tendencies are also
discussed in this initial evaluation
Custom Exercise Prescription
After your evaluation, a custom exercise program will be developed for you that will focus on strengthening your weaknesses and correcting your imbalances as it pertains to your swing.
Your customized program will include exercise handouts with written and visual instruction that you can perform at home. Dr. McCoy will guide you through each exercise and fully explain the benefits of
Follow Up Sessions
Each player will receive 2 sessions to establish the exercise prescription and to assure exercise are being done properly. The program will be progressed to meet the needs of each client. Players have
the option to continue with additional sessions as long as needed to achieve the outcome they want.
