OCTOBER is National Physical Therapy Month!

National Physical Therapy month is all about knowing the options you have in maintaining or improving your physical health. Since you are your best advocate in managing your health, it's great to empower yourself with knowledge. Did you know you may not even need a referral from your doctor? Direct Access allows Californian’s just that, direct access for up to 12 physical therapy sessions within 45 days. The sooner you begin PT, the sooner you get back to doing what you love.

The goal of National Physical Therapy Month is to raise awareness of the importance and benefits of physical therapy, and to celebrate the important role Physical Therapist’s play in helping decrease pain, manage pain, restore functions and improve mobility. The goal of physical therapy is to help people live a pain-free lifestyle and get them back doing what they love. As you may know, our treatment plans are designed individually and targeted to meet your needs, goals and challenges.

We asked Director of Rehabilitation Services at Performance Physical Therapy, Scott Crosby, PT, DPT to share a few benefits of physical therapy and below you'll find his response:

1) Evaluation, assessment, and treatment by a skilled, trained expert in the field of management of musculoskeletal disorders

2) Conservative management of pain, attempting to reduce the reliance on pain medication and simultaneous improvement of function

3) Treating the source of the problem and not just the symptoms

4)  Improved quality of life through restoration of function

Performance Physical Therapy can provide you with the following services:

  • Physical Therapy
  • Aquatic Therapy
  • Vestibular Therapy
  • Work Comp
  • Hand Therapy
